It has come to our attention that telephone calls (mostly automated calls) are being made to our customers requesting them to input their debit/credit card numbers. DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE CALLS. PLEASE NOTE THAT PERSONNEL FROM FIRST SENTRY BANK WILL NEVER MAKE CALLS ASKING FOR YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER. These calls are fraudulent in nature, and please do not respond to them. Always use extreme caution when providing any personal identifying information. Thank you.

We have been notified that customers are receiving text messages that appear to be smishing (SMS-short message service) schemes related to debit cards. The following is the text message:

"BANK ACCOUNT ALERT: Your DEBIT CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please call 304-212-2315."

DO NOT respond to this text message, because it is a scam.


October 17, 2012

We are receiving reports of phishing emails being sent from what appears to be a NetTeller email address customer_service@cm.netteller.com with the subject line of NetTeller Watch Notice. These are bogus emails trying to get customers to click on the embedded NetTeller access link. These emails are not coming from NetTeller. Should you receive an email, DO NOT click on the link. It is recommended to permanently delete the email.
